Newington is in one of the 24 counties included in the Coastal Georgia Water and Wastewater Permitting Plan for Managing Salt Water Intrusion into the Upper Floridian Aquifer. Included in this permit are several programs that must be implemented. 

These programs include: a water conservation education program, conservation-oriented water rate structure, implementing and enforcing the outdoor watering schedule, conducting a reuse feasibility study, evaluate alternate water resources, adopt a meter calibration, repair, and replacement program and adopt a water loss control program.

The Town of Newington recognizes that water is a limited resource and is devoted to water conservation. We encourage all citizens to do your part and practice water conservation in your home and business.
